Women’s Lax Tops Mid-Atlantic Poll

INDIANAPOLIS – The Gettysburg College women's lacrosse team grabbed the top spot in the first release of the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional rankings.
Gettysburg (12-2) earned the top spot in the region thanks in part to five victories over regionally-ranked teams in the Mid-Atlantic. That includes wins over each of the three teams behind the Bullets in the poll: Messiah College (10-2), Washington & Lee University (10-1), and York (Pa.) College.
Catholic University (8-4) came in at No. 5 followed by Franklin & Marshall College (10-4) and Salisbury University (11-5). The University of Mary Washington (13-4), Dickinson College (8-5), and the University of Scranton (8-3) rounded out the 10 teams in the Mid-Atlantic poll.
The other top teams in the regional polls include The College of New Jersey (9-1) in the East, Denison University (9-3) in the Mid-South, Middlebury College (10-2) in New England, and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (12-1) in the West.
Gettysburg, which is ranked third in the national poll, takes on Bryn Mawr College at Clark Field this Saturday at 1 p.m.
